Beyond Financial education? We are doing one of three things: 1. planning the next trip, 2. coaching soccer, or 3. exploring the mountain above our house in Farmington. We have a teenage daughter and boy/girl twins. If we can break through the teenage attitude, they are the perfect age to go and do whatever. Our kids regularly tell us the dog is our favorite child which we never deny.

We are constantly trying to teach our kids to read, be smart with money, and be decent humans. If ever faced with a difficult ethical decision, we encourage them to consider if the world would be awesome or awful if everyone acted like them. We modernized Kant's Categorical Imperative as the basis for that reasoning. He explains it as our duty to act in such a manner that we would want everyone else to act in a similar manner in similar circumstances towards all other people.

My husband and I spend most of our summer being imposters; trying to mountain bike without going over the handlebars, working to even compete with the elderly in pickleball, or trying to hit at least one of the clay pigeons while shooting shotguns. As for winter, I spend most of it, wishing it was summer. My husband wishes he could spend it skiing. We love to travel and explore new places. Some of our favorites have been Banff, Oregon, and Hawaii. We love sports and anything active, while still enjoying our fair share of movies.

I have a long commute, so I've learned to love podcasts. I'm amazed by the value and knowledge that can be attained in a 30 minute car-ride, as long as you find good content. That's why I'm so excited to be a part of The Financial Call, where anyone can learn all that they need to have financial success....and you can do it on your commute!
